Jasmine Mendez, B.A.

I graduated from Lake Forest College with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Psychology and aspire to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology. My passion for psychology stems from a strong interest in understanding the relationship between the brain, behavior, and my motivation to help individuals develop the skills needed to improve their quality of life.

As a Neurobehavioral Therapy Technician at AFG Guidance Center under the supervision of Dr. Elena Labkovsky, I work directly with clients of diverse ages and diagnoses to implement individualized treatment plans designed to strengthen emotional regulation, attention, social functioning, and adaptive skills. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing clients achieve goals that once seemed out of reach, gaining confidence in their abilities while creating a positive impact on both their own lives and the lives of their families.

I am particularly drawn to Neurobehavioral Therapy because it recognizes that every individual is unique and deserves an approach tailored to their specific needs, abilities, and experiences. What especially interests me about NBT is its focus on helping clients develop practical skills and long-term strategies that promote independence. That said, NBT provides individuals with effective tools that can reduce reliance on medication as the sole means of managing symptoms and expand the range of available treatment options.

Through my clinical training and experience, I have developed a deep appreciation for the positive impact that evidence-based, individualized interventions can have on people’s lives. I strive to provide compassionate, individualized support that helps clients recognize their potential and make meaningful progress toward their goals. It is a privilege to be part of their journey and to witness the growth, resilience, and accomplishments that can positively transform their lives. These outcomes are reflected not only in observable behavioral changes during sessions, but also in the quantitative data collected over time, which together provide a comprehensive, evidence-based understanding of each client’s progress.
