TMS & SPRAVATO®
SPRAVATO® is a prescription medication used alongside oral antidepressants to treat treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) who experience suicidal thoughts or actions. While it is not a pain reliever or a substitute for hospitalization when needed, SPRAVATO® offers a new option for those who haven’t responded to traditional treatments.
SPRAVATO®
SPRAVATO® Nasal Esketamine Therapy Now Available
Our psychiatric team has decided to take an important step in the management of treatment-resistant depression. We are offering treatment with SPRAVATO®, a nasal spray, esketamine, specifically designed to address symptoms of depression that have been resistant to other treatments. The treatment is reserved for adults only. Many of our patients have struggled with depression, having tried two or more oral antidepressants without adequate results. For some, traditional treatment methods do not provide the relief needed. This is where SPRAVATO® comes in—it works differently than currently available oral antidepressants.
We believe that adding SPRAVATO® to a current treatment regimen with an oral antidepressant can significantly help alleviate depression symptoms. We are fully certified in the SPRAVATO® Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program, ensuring that you receive safe, monitored, and effective care. Together, you and your doctor will decide if SPRAVATO® nasal spray, along with an oral antidepressant, may be right for you.
Please call us to schedule an intake appointment; we support your journey toward better mental health. If you’d like more information about SPRAVATO®, please visit Spravato.com to see frequently asked questions.

TMS
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy Now Available
We are thrilled to announce that AFG Guidance Center offers our patients Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy. This advanced treatment option is FDA-approved and provides a non-pharmacological, non-invasive solution for Major Depressive Disorder in both adolescents and adults.
Additionally, TMS is indicated for treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in adults and has shown promise in reducing anxiety symptoms for those with comorbid anxiety.
Clinical data has demonstrated impressive results: 83% of patients who completed the entire recommended course of TMS experienced a significant reduction in depression severity, with 62% achieving full remission. This means that their depression effectively went away.
TMS works by inducing magnetic pulses to gently stimulate nerve cells in the brain, helping to alleviate symptoms of depression or anxiety. It is especially beneficial when traditional antidepressant medications have not been effective or as an alternative to medication altogether. The procedure is safe, well-tolerated, and typically conducted in a doctor’s office or clinic setting. A typical treatment course involves daily 20-minute sessions over 4 to 6 weeks. Patients remain awake during the procedure and can resume normal activities immediately afterward, making it easy to integrate into your daily routine.
Furthermore, many insurance plans recognize the effectiveness of TMS therapy and offer coverage as part of their benefits. TMS treatment is covered under the BCBS PPO plan, and we are within their network.
We want to emphasize that TMS is not electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). It is a modern approach that offers new hope for those seeking relief from depression and OCD.
