Shun Yuet Chan
Neurobehavioral Therapy Intern
I began my internship with AFG Guidance Centre in September 2024 with Dr. Labkovsky. My passion for psychology and studio art has always been a big part of my interests, and I always look forward to combining both fields. I also double major in Psychology and Studio Art in Lake Forest College. I have also interned at a counselling centre in Hong Kong, and volunteered for Equestrian therapy previously. I have also been working closely with children and teenagers, while supervising their residential summer conferences. With my work at the current position, the opportunity allows me to work closely with the Neurobehavioral therapy technician and clients. It is truly amazing to see how clients improve over sessions, not only did they become more confident, but they also learnt to excel at emotional regulation and cognitive functioning.
Especially coming from a cultural background where therapy is still an active progressive field, I was able to see Neurobehavioral therapy through an inspirational lens. I hope to continue working in the clinical setting with children in the future.
