Enhancing the Well-Being of Children, Families & Communities.
Emphasizing Early Intervention.
Encouraging Individual and Family Strengths.
Welcome to the AFG Guidance Center: Where Families Flourish.
We are dedicated to helping children, adolescents and families find solutions to behavioral,
emotional, social and academic difficulties.
Who We Are:
The clinicians of AFG Guidance Center: Where Families Flourish have been working together as a
multidisciplinary team for more than 10 years. Our group, which is composed of a child and
adolescent psychiatrist and a licensed clinical psychologist,
neuropsychologist, social worker,
and counselor / developmental specialist,
draws strength from both our partnership and our expertise.
As a team we have a strong, trusting relationship,
which carries over into our relationship with the children and families who come to us for assistance.
You Are Not Alone:
We understand how difficult it is for parents to watch their children struggle.
We also know that as a parent, you want to help and support your child in any way you can.
We recognize that sometimes in managing even the everyday occurrences of childhood and adolescence,
the entire family can become easily frustrated and overwhelmed.
How We Can Help:
We are here to listen, to identify your child’s individualized needs, and to promote change.
From before your child is born, throughout their early childhood, into his or her school years,
and straight through adolescence, we are here to answer your questions and discuss your concerns.
We specialize in the treatment of children and adolescents with a wide spectrum of
emotional, behavioral, social, developmental, and learning difficulties, as well as
adjustment to various life and family transitions.
We see therapy as a partnership between ourselves and the child and family, viewing each child as an
individual, a part of a family and part of society.
We have dedicated our professional lives towards helping children of all ages to succeed and even excel.
